Neuer not contemplating retirement after turning 30

Manuel Neuer insisted he is not ready to contemplate retirement as he targeted winning the Bundesliga every year with Bayern Munich.

Neuer  in goal as Germany lost 3-2 to England despite taking a two-goal lead in Berlin on Saturday stressed that he remains ambitious despite winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

In an interview with the official DFB website to mark his 30th birthday, Neuer said: How does a 30-year-old feel?

I think at the age of 30 you still have youthful aspects, but at the same time you have gathered enough experience to know how to succeed in life. I like this mixture.

I generally don t think one s age is all that meaningful – there are 50-year-olds who still act and think like children. Turning 30 is also not a big deal for me …

Paulinho insists he can fit in at Bacelona

New Barcelona signing Paulinho insists he can fit into the team s style of play following his move from Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.

The Brazil international agreed a four-year contract after Barca activated his €40million release clause to bring him back to Europe.

Doubts have been raised about the combative midfielder s suitability to Barca s system, but Paulinho is determined to prove his critics wrong.

I m certain I can fit in at Barca and prove that all the effort they made to get me here was worth it, he said at his official presentation at Camp Nou.

I know Barca have their own style and DNA but I think I can play here.

I will play where I need to and see what opportunities I have. My intention is to help the team to win trophies.

Inter not interested in Sneijder sale

Inter sporting director Marco Branca has rejected rumours that his side are locked in talks with Manchester City regarding Wesley Sneijder.

No back-three fears for Spain boss Del Bosque

Vicente del Bosque acknowledges Italy s system has caused Spain problems in the past but he expects the European champions to shine in Monday s Euro 2016 last-16 clash.

Del Bosque and his players crashed out of the 2014 World Cup at the first hurdle, unable to take their title defence into the knockout stages after humbling losses to Netherlands and Chile.

Both those opponents operated with three centre-backs a system favoured by Italy boss Antonio Conte and one almost certain to form the basis of his approach at the Stade de France.

But Del Bosque was keen to point to improvement from his own side, with Alvaro Morata excelling in the previously troublesome centre-forward position, and drew confidence from a 1-1 friendly result in Italy three months ago.

Neymar set to extend PSG stay

Neymar is one of the most divisive players in the world of football. The PSG and Brazil star earns acclaim for his undoubted technical ability, while he is also often on the end of criticism due to his habit of play-acting.

It was his ability that persuaded French club PSG to pay a reported world record fee of around £200million to sign the Brazilian from Barcelona in 2017.

Has been a big success in France

Neymar was always in the shadow of Lionel Messi at Barcelona. He moved to PSG to be a star in his own right. He has achieved that in the last few seasons, although he has had to share the spotlight with French sensation Kylian Mbappe.

The French Ligue One is an inferior standard to La Liga, so it is unsurprising that Neymar has scored 32 goals in 33 appearan…
